The "Climate Change and New Energy Symposium" jointly organized by the Chinese Consulate General in Recife and the State of Pernambuco of Brazil was held on the 24th in Recife, the capital of the state. Officials from the Chinese Consulate General in Recife, members of the Qinghai Clean Energy Development Delegation, political figures from Pernambuco, Brazil, and entrepreneurs from China and Pakistan attended the conference on topics such as “Climate Change and Renewable Energy”. In-depth discussion was conducted.

In his speech, Pernambuco Governor Paul Camara said that the consequences of climate change will have serious impacts on agriculture, infrastructure construction and health, both now and in the future. Sustainability is not only vital to human life, but also a powerful engine for economic development. Bozhou is pursuing a sustainable development plan to promote sustainable development measures for enterprises in the state. It is expected that Pakistan and China will have deep exchanges in this field and create greater value.

Wang Liming, deputy governor of Qinghai Province, who led a delegation to Brazil, introduced the characteristics of Qinghai in the fields of sustainable development and new energy. Wang Liming said that Qinghai Province has basically formed a green development mode based on green energy, green industry, green consumption and green agriculture and animal husbandry, laying a foundation for building a well-off society in an all-round way and then opening up a new journey of modernization. He hoped that the two sides will jointly explore and build a platform for cooperation and innovation in energy enterprises, strengthen new energy cooperation, and jointly create a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy service system to make positive contributions to the development of green economy.

Yan Yuqing, Consul General of China in Recife, pointed out that the development of new energy has become the only way to deal with the global resource crisis and climate change. As one of the most abundant areas of clean energy in China, Qinghai is also actively promoting the “Belt and Road” initiative advocated by the Chinese government, and strives to promote energy green transformation and upgrading. Pernambuco has obvious location advantages and abundant natural resources, especially wind, water and solar energy. It is believed that Qinghai Province and Bozhou can tap more potential in developing new energy cooperation.

At the seminar, experts also conducted in-depth discussions on the development of climate change policy and energy sector in Brazil, climate change plan in Berkshire, sustainable and photovoltaic power generation research, China's renewable energy development and successful experience of Chinese companies.
